How to type the number in openoffice.org application?

I have got openoffice application(Portable). But when I type number. it displays the number in diffirent font which is not understandable. Is there any option available in openoffice application so that number can be viewed in easy font?

1. Here is one possibility: Go to Tools → Options... → Language Settings → Languages. Make sure that “Enabled for complex text layout (CTL)” is checked. Click on “OK”. Now go to Tools → Options... → Language Settings → Complex Text Layout. If Numeral is set to “Hindi”, then that is your problem. Change it to “Arabic” or “System”.
