What Is Convention Or Trade Shows?

im just recently got into Visual Kei(makeup/art). but i dont know much about it. iwas talking to a friend about it but he had to go and he was like you should go to a make up convention or a make up trade show. i have no idea what this is. although i did hear it a couple times in my life. im only 14 years old so please dont exspect me to know so much. what happens at a convention? my friend says to go to one..how do i find one? is there a website and all? is there a convention around my neighborhood i can go to or anything? and do you have to dress in a certain way to go? how long is it? do you just watch and listen or what? and whats the difference between trade shows and conventions?

  1. trade shows are basically related to each field and held in most countries on national as well as international levels. you can showcase ur products there and interested buyers from your own country and other countries who shall be visiting the trade show shall come in contact with you.
  2. Trade shows happen all over the country and the world. There are consumer shows and industry shows. I am involved in the planning of trade shows for the company I work for. It's a way to bring buyers and sellers together. There are shows for hair stylists. There are shows for brides and grooms. There are home shows and car shows. There are flower shows. Trade shows usually occur in major cities but there are smaller trade shows (or conventions) in smaller cities. Major cities would be like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, etc. There are shows targeting women. http://www.eventseye.com/fairs/event_l241.html In business, trade shows are opportunities for networking, to see what new products/equipment is available, educational opportunities, find new buyers, connect with current customers more conveniently, etc. For consumers, trade shows are opportunities to see what products or services are available . I went to a bridal show with my husband. We got to meet lots of different photographers and florists in one central location. We also were able to check out different travel agents and venues (locations for the wedding). I don't know what Visual Kei is but you might be able to do a search on google or yahoo regarding tradeshows. The link I posted here shows the tradeshows held throughout the world. It may be all inclusive though but it does show a lot of the shows that are going on. A trade show is a lot like a mall. (lots of different vendors in one place) You can talk with experts and ask questions. There is usually a fee for parking and admission though. They usually give away free stuff, samples, goodies, and have contests that you can enter for free to win stuff. Maybe your parents can take you to a tradeshow in your area. I know where I live, there are lots of tradeshows throughout the year in Boston and Worcester. (Massachusetts)
