How to stop all CDs skipping in my portable CD player? Hi everyone, Whenever I put any CD in my Sony CFD-E95L portable, the CD doesn't play at all, but immediately starts to skip, and the display says "no disc", so it must be failing to recognise any CD.... Is there any way I can remedy this, maybe by cleaning a part in the tray, or will I just have to buy another CD player? (This has already happened before, with my previous player, a JVC RC-QC7!) Many thanks, _lollinger_

what do you think and know about the kingston kpex portable media player? is it worth it? I'm helping my brother find a good mp3 player and we found the kingston on the internet yesterday, he really liked what he saw. so I was wondering what you guys know about it, and is it a good buy? so please give me your thoughts and experiences with it. I also noticed they don't sell it in alot of places like best buy, circuit city, or radio shack, where we could see them on display. so we wouldn't be able touch and get a feel for it. that means if we really liked it we'd have to buy it off the internet. which in my case I'd rather get a feel for it before I actually bought it. thanks! from what I've seen it costs around $150, and thats about all my brother can afford. also if it helps with giving an answer, he planns on using it alot while running
Is the Pocketsurfer2 portable internet thingy any good? I'd like access to the internet on the move, but don't want to lug around a laptop. I've heard mostly positive reviews of the Pocketsurfer2; does anyone here have one, and is it any good? In particular, I'm worried about battery life, and also possible speed and software issues. For example, does it have a decent memory, and can it display all websites (like ones with flash animation adobe files, that sort of thing)?
What to do with my portable hard drive? Why does WD Sync ask for licence key or display information regarding a trial version satus? my problem is how i could play my converted video to a portable device? device is newman mp3 player, model NO2-512M i have tried using Divx converter codec to convert in .avi format still wont work. (the mp3 device would display an error message saying "file format error") I'm a bit puzzled why because I have already converted the video file to .avi format. i have visited the customer service site for the device but sadly i lost the serial number so I cant use the site's privileges to download free stuffs there. another thing though I've noticed that every time i check the converted video file in .avi format of my converter its type of file is still the same in the PC but when viewed in my device its in avi format but wont work anyway.

Can I Buy A Portable TV & DVD Player? I've asked my parents for a Portable TV & DVD Player, but they either have a REALLY short battery life or it's too expensive. Is there anywhere that I can get a Portable TV & DVD Player that has a reasonable battery life (3 or more hours, or that comes with a car charger and wall charger) and where the TV displays a clear picture. By the way, I was also wondering if the player would pick up channels such as Prime, Win, ABC, SBS because I live in Australia... AND, is it also possible that the player has a fairly large screen, so that you can actually see the movies? I've been looking at this one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/10-4-PORTABLE-DVD-PLAYER-TV-USB-MP3-AV-IO-DIVX-Game_W0QQitemZ130115981804QQihZ003QQcategoryZ109884QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem on ebay, but I'm not sure if it's a good buy. Please help me. lutond.
Portable CD Player w/ bookmark button or cassette player with automatic reverse? (for blind person)? Can anyone provide me with a link to a (currently in stock) portable cd player with a "bookmark" (aka "resume" aka "re-read") button (not a hold down one of the buttons until an icon appears on the display screen, but a seperate button), to buy online? Can anyone provide me with a link to a (currently in stock) portable audio cassette tape player with the "auto-reverse" feature, to buy online? I need to buy one/both for my mother in law who is blind and loves audio books.. She currently has a portable CD player with the "re-read"/"bookmark" button, but she's worried that it will stop working over time, and Brilliance Audio doesn't make them anymore. She had a cassette player with the "automatic reverse" feature, but the machine died, and Panasonic discontinued the model. None of the companies have been helpful when I contacted them. I have done internet searches trying to find what I'm looking for, but haven't gotten results. Can someone on Y!Answers help please? Thanks.
How to use the Zune 80g as a portable HD without editing the registry? I just got a new Zune 80g, but my music collection only filled about 10% of the capacity. Therefore, I decided that it would be wise to double the Zune 80g as a portable disk drive so I can make use of the storage. However, Microsoft made a dumb decision and disabled disk use function for the Zune (>.<). I have already found forums on the net explaining how to force the Zune to be displayed as a disk drive by a series of cryptic registry hacks. I'd be fine with that solution except for the fact that I'd have to execute the hack on EVERY computer that I want to read the data off the Zune to. I'd even live with doing it on every computer if only the hack didn't require admin privileges, which is not available on most public computers. So, my question is: Is there a way that I use the Zune 80g as a portable HD without editing the registry or modifying the local environment? e.g. Is there something I can do directly to the Zune that will work on every computer? Thanks The answer posted by Michael C. would be the impractical registry hack I was talking about. Sorry Michael but that's exactly the thing we're trying to circumvent here.
What kind of video signal do internal LCD screens use? Things like camcorders, digital cameras, and portable game systems use an internal LCD screen to display data. What I really don't know is what type of signal do these type of devices use to connect to the screen. I would really like to know because I have a ds and I would like to be able to convert this signal into something that I could use to view on a TV screen or computer monitor since I am getting tired of playing on that small screen.

Does anyone know where I can find a manual to my portable DVD player online? I need to find the manual for my Audiovox portable DVD player style number D1708. I primarily use it for my daughter and the picture is black and white. I need to find out how to change it back to color. Yes, I've tried using the remote control and all other controls to change the display and what not but I have not found anything to change it. So if anyone knows of a web site that I can go to to find old manuals or what not that would be very helpful. It used to be in color but I think my daughter did something and since she is 2 I can't really ask her.

How to type the number in openoffice.org application? I have got openoffice application(Portable). But when I type number. it displays the number in diffirent font which is not understandable. Is there any option available in openoffice application so that number can be viewed in easy font?
Portable dehumidifier not reducing moisture? A portable humidifier that has worked well for about 5 years is failing. The fan engages and runs at both speeds. The filter is clean. The digital displays are working, and appear correct. However, the air exhausted is only cool (not cold like I expected), and the drain line is dry after a couple hours of operation. When I removed the back cover, the black canister (condenser?) is very warm to the touch, although there are no scorch or burn marks. All the wires appear to be intact, with no frays or kinks. The copper line from the black canister to the 'grill' in the front are cool, but not cold. Thoughts? Would a freon leak be visible? Are there retailers who can recharge the freon (or just A/C repairmen?)? It is a Maytag, manufactured by Fedders. I can't find a manual online to troubleshoot.
My Portable DVD player wont work? For some reason my Venturer 10" Portable DVD player wont work with the AC adapter i bought... It works fine when you use the DC car adapter, however when i try to use the AC adapter I bought it comes on, but displays the "DVD" screen for a second and then goes to a black-ish blue screen with rolling bars going down it... at this point none of the buttons work or anything... It also makes a "Electronic humming" noice from the speakers for some reason... IT called for 9v & + polarity... so thats what I got the adapter set-on... It just dont seem to work? Any suggestions? Thanks
About a portable DVD player.? This one is the description of the DVD player, but notice it says it plays back files downloaded from the computer and put into a cd-r or cd+r. The questions is: What if it was downloaded onto a DVD+R? Would it be viewable? The convenient Audio/Video Input and Output provide connection to an external monitor or using the SD-KP19 screen and speakers as the display device. The built-in 4-In-1 Card Slot accepts Secure Digital™, Memory Stick™, XD Picture Card™, and MultimediaCard™. Is there a way to directly transfer digital media from a camera to a USB jump drive without use of a PC/laptop I really don't have money to buy more flash memory for my digital camera and I will soon be taking a multiweek trip overseas where I most certainly will not have any access to a computer and will not be bringing one with me. I'm wondering if there is some easy inexpensive ($20 or less) portable solution for transferring a camera's digital images directly to a USB type storage device or jump drive - ie without the use of a laptop or pc. Unfortunately, I like to keep many of the digital photos I've taken on my flash card permanently 'protected' so I can, via my digital camera's display, share them with friends and relatives. This will probably lead to the memory space on my flashcard dwindling down to probably nothing well before my trip will be over. I'm hoping I can make use of the USB jump drive devices that I already have to store some of the new images that I will be snapping. Thanx for your responses.

I need a portable digital photo album(tablet?) w/large screen? I have been all over the net, but I do not seem to be able to find a the digital equivalent of the old photo album: a stand-alone, tablet-shaped device with a nice big screen that will display pictures much as the old family album did. any suggestions?
Can anyone suggest a portable audio device (mp3 player or other) with the following specs please? I want to buy a (digital?) music player, but I'm not sure what to go with. I'd just like a few suggestions on which player I should pick. Here are the things I want included in the player: 1. Most Important-PLAYS .WMA files and protected files--what I mean is, I'd be able to put the songs from my Windows Media Player library on the device and they'd play and work properly. 2. Has a good memory--fits (at absolute least) 5 hours of songs WITHOUT changing their format from .wma. That means no mp3. 3. Can access radio stations--Digital, good quality FM stations with button navigation (you press a button to change station, not spin a wheel) and at least 10 station presets. 4. The following is optional, but it'd be good if the player could display cover art of the songs, have a backlit screen, and a good battery life (1 or more hours). Good transfer speed, and preferably the ability to record sound. Also, it'd be nice if it recorded radio too. 5. Costs anywhere from $30-$200 as you can see, that isn't much...oh, and one more thing: please don't suggest any apple products (i-pods or other) i have a personal grudge with the apple company and don't want to have to do anything with them. thank you for answering...best suggester gets 10 points!
